About
The Cambridge University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club is a student-run organization dedicated to the practice and promotion of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Our community includes Cambridge undergraduates, graduate students, and other Cambridge affiliates, creating a diverse and inclusive environment for martial arts training.
We welcome members of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners. Our focus is on developing technical proficiency, physical fitness, and mental discipline through the art of BJJ.
What to Expect
Class Structure
- Dynamic Warmups: Each class begins with relevant movements and drills
- Technique Focus: Learn and practice new techniques with experienced partners
- Live Training: Classes end with positional sparring and live rolling
Ground Rules
- Wear athletic clothing: Follow IBJJF guidelines - close-fitting athletic wear, no zippers or jewelry
- Maintain hygiene: Clean clothes, trimmed nails, shower after training
- Practice safely: Control your movements, communicate with your partner, tap early and often
